Notes: Freddy Asmussen was the Head of Display at the Myer Emporium in Melbourne during the 1950's and 60's and was responsible for the famous Myer Christmas windows.He enjoyed the patronage and favour of Dame Merlyn Myer and his office was filled with ornate French gilded furniture. The present suite was reputed to have been lent by him for an event at the Melbourne Town Hall to accomodate seating for the queen during her 1952 tour of Australia.
