A French 1940s transitional style Chinoiserie lacquered and gilt bronze mounted breakfront commode, attributed to Maison Jansen, with sienna marble top, over a single drawer freize mounted with applied guilock moulding and wreath drop handle over two longer drawers with pagoda scene and further tear wreath drop handles, the serpentine skirt centred with the Sun King mount, the sides with conforming decoration, each cantered corner headed by an ancanthus tied laurel and berry wreath over a tied ribbon with string of beads to rosette, the whole supported on cabriole legs with gilt leaf sabbots.
