The rectangular plate and border plates between inner and outer reeded frames, with a crest of shell and foliage and other floral decoration throughout.
Provenance: Private Australian Collection.
Condition: The frame has a number of losses and cracks throughout to its moulded and applied composition details, together with a few old attempts at repairing losses; much of the gilding to the reeded parts of the frame is worn, exposing the red bole, while that on the applied details is variously rubbed, dulled, or dirty. The outer edges of the frame are knocked and worn.
The plates, apprarently original, have various typical age-related faults including areas of cloudiness, degradation of the silvering, etc.
