The upper part with an arched and moulded cornice above a pair of doors enclosing shelves with a brushing slide below, the lower part with a frieze drawer above a pair of doors, on bracket feet, black lacquered overall, the front decorated with Chinese scenes and motifs in gold and coloured lacquer.

Provenance: Private Australian Collection.

Condition: The upper and lower parts of the cabinet are basically original early eighteenth carcases (including doors, drawers, and backboards), retaining original lacquer decoration to the door fronts, but with considerable later restoration, especially in the refinishing of the non-lacquered surfaces. Many and various past and more recent faults and repairs remain apparent, including bowing of the upper doors; shrinkage cracks and gaps; bumps, losses, and scuffs to the woodwork and decoration; loose and replaced mouldings, etc.

The shallow middle section, incorporating the slide, is recent, made to fit between the main sections, and can be omitted if desired.

The interiors of the main sections have been redecorated and the upper part fitted with LED lights (the operating condition of which is not known).

Weight: Approximately 50 Kilograms.

Dimension: Height: 246 cm Width: 108 cm Depth: 52 cm.
