Baluster with domed cover displaying cartouches to a mottled blue ground, the base applied with an acanthus leaf and paw feet surround.
Provenance: Private Australian Collection.
Condition: Cover: rings sound when tapped; some rubbing to gilding; no chips, cracks or restorations to cover. Body: base has been drilled so that gilt metal mount can be attached; rings sound when tapped; light rubbing to gilding and painted decoration in places; underglaze and on-glaze marks to base are clear; no chips, cracks or restoration to base. Metal base: oxidisation and rust to top and underside of centre; areas of heavy oxidisation to gilt metal in places, particularly to the feet and the top of the rim.
