The auspicious bowl decorated with enamels and gilt to the exterior with four character roundels reading wanshouwujiang that may be translated as 'Ten thousand birthdays without end', all reserved on a ground of scrolls, waves and wan. The interior with five bats surrounding a central shou character, the bats representative of the five blessings, wufu, namely longevity, wealth, health, virtue, and peace, the shou symbol, for longevity.

Provenance: Private Collection, Melbourne, thence by descent to the current owner whose great aunt was once a performer and socialite in China during 1890s-1930s.

Condition: Wear consistent with age and use. Overall in very good condition.
