The serpentine fronted marble top with ovolo molded edge over carved rosettes, C scrolls and rocailles, the sides with conforming decoration, each canted cabriole leg headed with foliate scroll to leaf sabot and scroll foot, joined by x- form stretcher with further central rocaille molding. An excellent example of the extravagant Rococo style, these consoles are also comparable in manner to those designed by the Italian born French architect and designer Juste-Aurele Meissonnier (1695-1750) who was renowned for his designs for French, Portroguese and Polish nobility and appointed by Louis XV as Dessinateur de la chambre et du cabinet du roi; the post of designer.
